Restrict TA Access to a Specific Section (Opens a new page)
You can combine your course sections in Quercus by cross-listing them into one primary course. Once your sections are cross-listed, students will only see the primary course on their Dashboard and list of courses.
Cross-listing is useful when you are teaching multiple sections of a course and you wish to combine them in order to share resources. Also, it is possible to restrict TA access to a specific section.
Cross-listing is also used to combine all practicals and tutorials under the main course.
An instructor must be added to a course section in order to cross-list it. Please use the Cross-listing Request Form or QR code below to be added as an Instructor to your tutorial or practical course sections in Quercus.
Notes:
- Cross-listing should be done while the courses that are being cross-listed are unpublished. If a published course is cross-listed, all cross listed enrolments will lose any associated assignment submissions and grades.
- If you have cross-listed your LEC with TUT or PRA Quercus sections, then the random distribution of students into groups by section will not work properly. Instead, you may need to use the UT Advanced Group Tool to distribute groups within sections when cross-listing has been completed.
Please contact us at utml.instructech@utoronto.ca if you would like us to rename the course section that remains after you complete the cross-listing process.
