Research Scholarship and Data Services >> PublishIn traditional publishing models, publishers cover the cost of editing, formatting, publishing, storing for print copies and backing up for electronic copies, distributing, and marketing books and journals. The UofT Libraries purchase and/or subscribe to copies and hold the largest monograph and journal collection in Canada.

The UofT Libraries also support broader and accessible dissemination, which makes scholarly outputs known and raising researchers’ and institutional profiles. We promote openness in scholarly communications by providing various supports for tools, processes, and infrastructure that make research more accessible, reproducible, rapidly available without compromising quality.

As an example of our support, the University of Toronto provides the following two institutional repositories: TSpace for articles and Dataverse for data.

UofT Institutional Repositories

The merit of using our repositories varies: for example, the platforms are locally hosted, suitable to make the authors maintain their rights, they are not owned by commercial publishing companies. Check our services to learn more about our support for wider dissemination of your research results on this site. For more information or a consultation please contact Yayo Umetsubo.
