The FLC offers several workshops throughout the fall and winter academic terms aimed at helping students learn how to develop their business research skills. Please see the list below for workshops typically offered. Our workshops are open to all UTM students, and are eligible for 1 PSDP or Library CCR.

Bloomberg Basics
This workshop will introduce students to the Bloomberg terminal. Students will learn how to access Bloomberg terminals; create a Bloomberg account; navigate and search the terminal to find company information, including company financials, as well as analyst reports and business news. Students will also learn about how to get certified with Bloomberg Market Concepts.
Bloomberg Intermediate
This workshop is designed for students who have completed the Bloomberg Basics workshop or for students with some experience using Bloomberg. This workshop will feature some of the advanced functionality in Bloomberg, including Bloomberg Intelligence.
FactSet Basics
This workshop will introduce students to FactSet. Students will learn how to access FactSet remotely and search the database to find company information, including company financials and filings, as well as to perform relative valuation using the Comps tool. Students will also learn about how to complete the FactSet certifications.
FactSet Intermediate
This workshop is designed for students have completed the FactSet Basics workshop or for students with some experience using FactSet. This workshop will feature some of the advanced functionality in FactSet.
