Community Access

The University of Toronto Mississauga Library is accessible to community members during regular hours of operation. During extended access hours, only current students, faculty, and staff may use the space after midnight.

U of T Alumni Cards

Alumni may purchase an alumni library card at the Robarts Library Reader Registration desk.

Direct Borrowers

Graduate students, faculty members, and staff from other Universities in Canada with valid home university identification are eligible for Direct Borrower card.

Borrowing Privileges

NOTE: Some campus libraries including federated college libraries have different borrowing privileges or may apply local rules. Please check with each individual library.

UTM Library Community Borrower

UTM Library Community Borrower Card is available to members of the Halton-Peel region.

Members of the community enrolled in a post-secondary institution are NOT eligible to receive this card. Please check the borrowing options through your home institution.

Valid government-issued photo identification must be presented at each visit.

Cost:

  • $50 annually

Privileges

Community Borrower Card can only be used at the University of Toronto Mississauga Library.

  • Borrow up to 25 stacks books at a time
  • 14 day loan period
  • Up to one renewal
  • On-site access to most of the University of Toronto Libraries’ licensed electronic resources. Guest computer login is issued at the Information and Loans desk.
  • Guest WiFi access

Restrictions

Community Borrowers are not eligible for:

  • Borrowing special collections materials, such as Careers, Novelties, Media, Periodicals, or Short Term Loan items, including technology
  • Borrowing from other University of Toronto Libraries
  • Intercampus Delivery & Interlibrary Loans
  • Remote access to University of Toronto Libraries’ licensed electronic resources
  • Room Booking

High School Students

UTM Library High School Borrower Card is available to secondary school students in the Halton-Peel region, arranged through their institution.

Students must obtain a letter from their school administration in advance and bring it to the UTM Library when applying for the borrower card.

Valid student photo identification must be presented at each visit.

Privileges

UTM Library High School Borrower Card can only be used at the University of Toronto Mississauga Library.

  • Borrow up to 2 stacks books at a time
  • 14 day loan period
  • Up to one renewal

We not only provide tours but we can also give you a brief overview of the library catalogue, help researching a specific topic, assistance in finding electronic resources, etc. In short, we are here to assist you in navigating the wealth of resources available at your fingertips.
