Desktop Computers

The U of T Mississauga Library has over 200 computers, which provide Internet access to the Library Catalogue and our extensive collection of electronic resources, as well as access to course-related applications and productivity suites (Microsoft Office Professional+ 2012, etc).

For a list of the software available on the library workstations, please see our software page.

There are 120 workstations located in the RBC Learning Commons, on the main floor. The Library also has express terminals on levels 3 and 4 and in the Amgen Smart Classrooms.  Our 46-seat Amgen Smart Classrooms provide course-related software and are accessible during library hours, except when in use for instruction classes. We post closure notices in advance.

For locations of other computing facilities on campus, please see our LabStats page.

To access the library's computers, as well as use the wireless network on campus and to log into Blackboard, you must have a valid UTORid.

For more information on obtaining or activating one, please visit the UTORid activation page.

The library offers netbooks for short-term 5-hour loan.  They are fully integrated into the library's wireless and printing system, feature Microsoft the Office Standard 2010 productivity suite, and by default have administrative privileges for all users.  This allows you to install software not available on other library workstations, including textbook and tutorial packages.

To sign out a netbook, please see the Information and Loans desk on level 2.  The full list of related policies is available here.
