Community Access

The University of Toronto Mississauga Library is accessible to all patrons during regular hours of operation. During periods of 24/5 service, access will be restricted to members of the U of T community after midnight.

Eligible Borrowers

  • U of T Mississauga Alumni are welcome to a free library card limited to the resources of the U of T Mississauga Library
  • University of Toronto Alumni may apply for privileges at Reader Registration in the Robarts Library (a variety of fee levels may apply)
  • Graduate students, faculty members, and staff from other Universities in Canada, please see Direct Borrower Privileges
  • Institutional members of the University of Toronto Library System
  • Research Readers may apply for privileges at Reader Registration in the Robarts Library (a variety of fee levels may apply)
  • Retired faculty and staff at the University of Toronto retain all library privileges they had prior to retiring, including access to electronic resources.
  • School of Continuing Studies
  • Community members may apply at the Information & Loans desk for limited privileges only at UTM for an annual fee of $30.00
  • High School Students. A cooperative agreement is maintained with several Peel Board of Education institutions and surrounding areas. Additional information may be obtained at the Information & Loans desk @ 905-828-5236

Alumni

U of T Mississauga Alumni Cards

This card is only available for alumni of U of T Mississauga.  It comes at no charge and lasts for one year.  The card can be renewed for subsequent years with confirmation of identification and address.

Borrowing Privileges

  • Valid for UTM Library material only
  • 5 Stacks loans at any one time
  • 14 day loan period
  • 1 renewal
  • DVDs and Videos can be borrowed for 3 days with 1 renewal
  • CDs may be borrowed for 7 days with no renewals
  • No holds

Restrictions

U of T Mississauga Alumni are not eligible for:

  • Reserve items
  • Intercampus Delivery & Interlibrary Loans (RACER)
  • Journals
  • Laptops
  • Room Booking
  • Wireless Access

Borrowing privileges will be blocked when fines reach $9.99

U of T Alumni Cards

Alumni may purchase an alumni library card at the Robarts Library Reader Registration desk.

Direct Borrower

Graduate students, faculty members, and staff from other Universities in Canada with valid home university identification are eligible for Direct Borrower card.

Borrowing Privileges

  • Up to 100 loans at a time
  • 14 day loan period
  • Two renewals, 14 days each

NOTE: Some campus libraries including federated college libraries have different borrowing privileges or may apply local rules. Please check with each individual library.

U of T Mississauga Library Community Members Card

This card is only available to community members of the Halton-Peel region for one year, for a non-refundable fee of $30.00.  Each subsequent annual renewal will be subject to a fee of $30.00.  Valid photo ID with current address must be provided at the time of application.

  • Valid for UTM Library material only

  • 14 day loan period with 1 renewal

High School Students

Borrowing services are arranged through participating schools*.

Students must present an official letter on school letterhead which is signed by the student and a designated person from the school, in which they are accepting joint responsibility for material signed out.  The student must also provide current photo ID.

Cards are valid from September until May 31 of the following year.

* Students from non-participating schools may wish to consider a Community Members card.

Borrowing Privileges 

  • Valid for UTM Library material only
  • 2 books for 2 weeks with 1 renewal
