Instructors can import selected course material that have been exported or archived into a zip file (also known as a package) into a new course shell.
To Import a Course
- Go to the Control Panel, click on Packages and Utilites, then select Import Package / View Logs.
- Click on the Import Package button
- Click on the Browse My Computer button
- Select the zip file you would like to import and click on the Open button.
- Tick the boxes for each item of the course file that you want to import. NOTE: If you want to import a test, survey or assignment that has been deployed, ensure you select the checkboxes for
- The content area where the item was deployed,
- Grade Center Columns and Settings,
- Test, Surveys and Pools checkbox (if it is a test or survey).
- Click Submit.
Depending on the amount of content in the course, the process of importing may take a few minutes to a few hours following receipt of the confirmation message for the course material to appear in the new course shell.
Never upload a course package that has been opened or edited outside of Blackboard. These files may be corrupted resulting in unstable or unpredictable behaviour when the file is imported into a new shell.
