Library Learning Zones

Learning Zones

The Library is the information hub and gathering place on campus for learning together, and as individuals.  Library staff continues to work closely with students to “co-create” an environment that is conducive to academic research, reflection, discovery, and learning.  We care about your learning, productivity, and academic success. That is why we have introduced our new colour-coded Learning Zones.

We have created four specific Learning Zones to fit your learning style. Choose the colour-coded zone that best matches the work you need to get done in the Library. If you have questions, check with Library staff who are happy to help you.

Purpose of the Learning Zones

The purpose of the Learning Zones is to promote the Library as a space for research, reflection, discovery, and learning. Associated with each zone is a set of expectations, benefits, and cautions, and we are encouraging students to select the zone that best fits the work they need to get done in the Library. Each of the Library learning zones establishes basic expectations for acceptable behaviour that are enforced under the Library Code of Conduct. Further information is available in Understanding the Library Code or in the full text of the Library Code of Conduct.
